Got mold? I seriously hope not, but it is all too common, especially near the ocean where the air is damp. Nowadays we know that toxic mold causes a myriad of health issues, so we cannot just ignore the problem. Sometimes you can see the mold & sometimes it is inside a wall or otherwise out of sight. Usually you can smell it…..it is also called ‘mildew’. So your first step, should you suspect mold, is to get a professional inspection. It is expensive: they will charge around four hundred to come out, and then each air sample that is sent to the lab is more than $100. It is necessary to identify the mold and determine the concentration. Your initial detailed report may be about 35 pages long, but they will explain it to you on the phone. After remediation, you will need another inspection and lab sample(s) for clearance. I did considerable research to find a good inspector & believe I found the best in my area.
